Sheriff Rick Ramsay is the most decorated deputy in the history of the Monroe CountySheriff's Office, receiving ninety-three commendations of merit. He has received all the awards the Office bestows including the Medal of Valor for saving the life of a man trapped in a drainage pipe filled with lethal fumes. He has been with Monroe County Sheriff's Office for over 27 years, and was elected our Sheriff in 2012, and re-elected unopposed in 2016. His words to live by are: "Honesty, Professionalism and Commitment to Community" - words that guide his staff every day at the MCSO.
