Mission of MarrVelous Pet Rescues and the Current Needs

Suzi Youngberg is the Director and Rescue Coordinator at MarrVelous Pet Rescues Inc.  Suzi is a 25 year resident of the Florida Keys, and is an active member of the community.  She was employed by the American Cancer Society as the Senior Community Development Manager for the Florida Keys for years, until 2020 when COVID caused ACS to pull all staff support from the Keys.  She remains an active volunteer and is working to bring Relay For Life back!  Suzi is also active in the Upper Keys BPW (Business & Professional Women) and serves currently as the Immediate Past President, and also sits on the CFFK Upper Keys Regional Advisory Council.  In September 2021, Suzi accepted the position of Rescue Director with MarrVelous Pet Rescues and was instrumental in moving the organization into their new location and establishing the MPR Rescue House.  The mission of MarrVelous Pet Rescues Inc, a Florida 501(c)(3) non-profit, is to provide immediate, necessary counsel, care and treatment for animals abandoned, stray or in need. MPR seeks temporary shelter in foster homes until permanent adoption into a compatible, loving, and caring home is achieved. MarrVelous Pet Rescues promotes education for responsible animal care, spay & neuter, microchipping and training.

Suzi will be speaking about the mission of MarrVelous Pet Rescues and the current needs with an unprecedented number of abandoned and surrendered dogs in South Florida and the Keys.  She will be giving statistics on pets rescued and rehomed, and providing information on community services like Pack Training and the new Kibble Pantry. She will also list opportunities for volunteering, fostering, sponsoring and other ways to support MarrVelous Pet Rescues.
